I bought my copy on Amazon last Friday and received it Monday. I just watched it Wednesday night. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! I saw it in the theater but couldn’t wait to have a copy for myself!!
I loved the movie even more at home than in the theatre, It seemed more personal and I saw things in my home that I was not able to connect with on the big screen . Wonderful film , I have seen Buck in person many times but this was a side of openness , human, and emotional that I really loved. Lets keep following this great Horseman in his other walks in life. Thank you for sharing with all of us. I will watch this over and over , especially when I need a wake up call in my own life.
Anybody that knows me, already knows what I think! Very Proud of a “Snot-Nosed kid” that Carolyn Hunt and I Love! Don’t tell him, he might get “a fat head!” We kind of were around when he was 16! God Bless our Dear Friend, a Marvelous Lady: Betsy Shirley! She was the one who changed all! My Friend! “as Buck wrote in book: ” to my lifelong friend, that believed in me before I could even be arrested….” Yup! It’s True!
I’m not one to buy movies, but I am definately buying this one when I go shopping today!!! Thanks for letting me know it’s out. I will also go see it in the theater.
Firefly Acres Horse Farm, Inc., a new 501(c)(3) non-profit horse rescue/therapy program of which I’m the President and founder, is based on Buck’s principles. We have 7 rescue horses and we are in the process of getting them to trust people again enough to hopefully be able to ride them by using Natural Horsemanship. In the meantime they minister to people that have lived with abuse or other emotional problems. People can see that there is hope and healing by watching these scared horses transform into the gentle and kind horses that they are becoming.
These horses had at one time been called useless, dangerous, and crazy. Now, even small children can safely spend time with them.
Thank you for offering this movie to the public. I hope to share it with as many people as possible to help promote a better, more natural way to treat horses and animals in general.
Sincerely,
Lisa Pelky,

I also willl be opening a House of Hope Virginia Ranch that will be a 6 months to a year resident home for students 13-17 and we will be taken in abused and neglected horses also. I read Bucks “The Faraway Horses” and was so excited to see it come to life on film. I love Bucks training and well also use his principles to help the horses that we will come to the Ranch. Being abused at a young age I know how very important it was for me when I had my horse. The love, joy and comfort that he gave me during the hard times was priceless. I have shared this vision for 9 years now and for it to be the time to get started Bucks film is that perfect timing that God puts together! Thanks Buck for sharing your story and life with us horse (and people) lovers. I can’t wait to get my own personal copy of the Movie!
I bought my copy from Amoeba a week ago or so. It was hard to find in the SF Bay Area, but I did find it, and the retailers who didn’t have it say they will stock it, because of the number of people who’ve come in-store asking for it. I do wonder why it wasn’t released on Blu-ray, but I’m very happy to have this DVD to share with people who didn’t see BUCK in theaters. Thank you all!
I finally found a copy at Best Buy after renting it. It will be in our collection of great DVDs to watch over and over. My brothers and I grew up the same way. Thank GOD for the horses and the people who step in to encourage you growing up in a tough situation. But like Buck say’s, It makes us who we are. Great documentary!!!
Loved it! Watched the entire movie! Very moved by it!! hope buck comes to maine sometime soon would love to go to a clinic of his. Great movie for all people not just horsey people.

Having been the one who hired him at 16…”What do I need to moderate? Ask Buck, he will tell you straight up! This I say with full respect!
